Contact information
You can contact me at the following addresses:
- martijn@thany.org - for general questions and comments
- bugs@thany.org - to report bugs in my software and Delphi components
En though these rules, are nothing more than an interpretation of the Netiquette, try to uphold them to keep our internet clean and efficient. Also, if you have a question about one of my products, please put the product name in the subject, so that I know what it's about.
- Do not send me large binary attachments unless requested, since they are usually uncessesary at first. And if you do, compress them. You may use RAR or CAB, if you know how to create them.
- Don't send me files I already have, such as PngComponents.exe.
- Compress images. JPEG, PNG and GIF are good. No JPEGs for screenshots, use PNG or GIF instead.
- Include relevant quoted text at the top, so that I can follow your problem in a chronological way. It's a bit nasty in Outlook (Express), but no one is forcing you to use it.
- Do not label your email as !!Important!!, mark your e-mail as high priority, or request a reply ASAP unless my products are physically damaging you. You won't get a higher priority just because you're in a hurry.
- Send in plain text. HTML or RTF mails score much higher in my spam filter. And if your HTML mail manages to get blocked by my spam filter, I may find out about your e-mail many months later.
- If you're sending me a bug report, please include a clear description of it, and steps that describe how to reproduce the bug. If it's about a Delphi component, then don't attach a demo project, unless I ask for it, but do make clear which Delphi version. And of course, always include information on the system where the problem occurs, such as OS version.
I'm not trying to keep you from e-mailing me. In fact, I encourage it, because I love feedback. But please follow the Netiquette. Many people don't even know what it is.
